Join us as we welcome Blitz Vega to our venue! Formed in November 2016 by Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and KAV (Happy Mondays), Blitz Vega has been rocking the scene with their unique sound.
Sadly, Andy’s journey was cut short on May 19, 2023, due to pancreatic cancer. Despite his battle, he continued to create music with Blitz Vega. Andy was a legendary bassist, shaping the ’80s alternative music scene with The Smiths and collaborating with icons like Johnny Marr, Ian Brown, and Sinead O’Connor.
KAV, known for reforming Happy Mondays and co-founding the “Getloaded In The Park” festival, has toured globally and worked with numerous artists.
In honour of Andy, Blitz Vega announced their upcoming album ‘Northern Gentleman’ on January 17, 2024, which would have been Andy’s 60th birthday.
